Fridays are usually my busiest days. I have reports due for work. My weekend plans kick into full gear. At times, I feel I work too much and play less.
In an earlier post, I mentioned I consciously decided to take it easy in November and December. I want to fully enjoy the holiday season. Here are some of the things I’m doing to balance my personal and professional lives. Hope you can use them any part of the year.
Clear Your Mind
Clear your mind so you can feel open and free. Clearing your mind of all the things running in your head from work or other personal things can be overwhelming. Leave whatever you’re thinking about at work.
Meditate to clear your mind. Or you can listen to peaceful music to calm yourself.
Set Aside Time for Relaxing
This is important. I have actually started setting aside time on specific weekends to completely recharge and sooth myself.
Letting Go of Schedules
The whole point of relaxing and balancing your work and personal lives is to not hold yourself too tightly to a schedule. You’re not going to the office, right? Let go of timings. If you want to wake up late some day, then do just that. If you want to wake up early and go for a run, then do it.
Be Easy on Yourself
Most of all, be kind and easy on yourself. Just like you would care for a friend, care for yourself in that way.
How do you balance your personal and professional lives? Please share with me in the comments!
