Questioning and doubting yourself is like a vicious circle. It keeps taking you in circles and can be never ending until you don’t take conscious steps to break the cycle.
Don’t Compare Yourself to Your Friends
I’ve heard my mother and friends get caught up in this trap. Heck, I’ve gotten caught up in this, too. You hear something about a friend or spot something on Facebook and it creates this cycle of being hard on yourself. You spiral inwards and start doubting everything – your job, finances, and relationships.
Everyone is on a different journey and all you have to do is see if you’re content with where you’re at.
Are You Happy? If So, Stop Caring What Others Think
If you feel satisfied with your life, then why care what others think? I have experienced this often. I felt happy with where I was at in my relationship or career. I would go to a party or have a conversation and then suddenly break out into anxiety. I would find loop holes in my relationship and career. The comparison analyzing would happen.
Only minutes before, I was happy with where I was. If you’re happy, then let yourself be. Don’t get sucked in what others’ opinions are of you.
Go With the Flow and Let Things Unravel
When you try to control too much, you doubt yourself. Sometimes, the best thing to do is just to take a step back and go with the flow, even though you don’t know where you’re heading. Let the journey unravel.
Listen and Read Positive Material On a Daily Basis
When you get caught up in a cycle of self-doubt, then read books and material online. Listen to radio shows or audio tapes from people you respect. For example: I listen to Connie Chapman’s Awaken Radio to bring me back to a positive state.
