When you have a lot going on in your life, it’s easy to feel burned out. This is the time you should support yourself more than ever. This means adopting healthy practices to make sure you have the space and time to be loving towards yourself.
I wanted to share some of the ways I avoid burnout.
Get off Social Media
Social media is addictive, but it sucks too much time out of your hands. If you’re feeling tired and need a break, then get OFF social media. Do something else in place of looking at your friend’s Facebook’s profiles or Twitter remarks.
I’m not taking the high horse here, this includes me! I need to make an effort on cutting down social media and staring at my iPhone especially.
Exercise Your Body
Go for a sweet, sweaty run. Or go for a hike. If you’re like me, sitting in front of your computer most of the day takes a toll on you. Make sure you have exercise no matter how busy you are.
Meditate
This is a good practice to adopt right before going to sleep. Even for only ten minutes, close your eyes and meditate. Your mind will instantly clear up.
Drink Glasses of Water and/or Tea
When you’re busy, it’s easier to drink coffee and indulge in less healthier foods. I work from home currently and it’s tempting to drink soda or coffee. I have bottles of water stacked in my fridge now.
Read a Book
This is one of my favorite past times. But I haven’t gotten around to it lately. I’m clearing up my schedule to create space for myself. And I find nothing more nourishing than reading a good book.
Go out and Party!
Hey, sometimes you need a girls’ night where you dance away!
Take off on a Vacation
Gosh, I so need one. Hurry up, go and book a ticket for a beautiful vacation. Um, that applies to you, too, Ma’am.
