While I’m totally all for honesty, I believe not everything needs or should be told to a guy. But what should you tell him? And what should you leave out?
To Tell or Not To Tell…
Honesty is a benchmark of relationships. No relationship can be happy and blossom without honesty. But not everything needs to be told to your guy.
Be Honest About the Important Things
A good rule of thumb is to be transparent and truthful about the important things. I’ll give you an example. You should share your sexual past openly with him. Things like STDs are important topics to discuss.
Also, you don’t need to go into details, but you can tell him about past relationships that didn’t work out that affected you. Baby mama drama or kids with an ex are things that deserve a conversation.
I would even go as far as suggesting to discuss things close to your heart – like your family and matters affecting your household.
But Some Things are Better Left Unsaid
What are things you shouldn’t be telling your guy? If your ex boyfriend contacted you to give him another chance and you considered it even for a second, then do not tell your current partner this!
While you can share your sexual and romantic past, no need to tell him how you met an ex. Or how you felt so strongly about him while you were drunk. Those are details that don’t need to be dived into. After all, the past is the past. Leave it there only.
Do you tell your boyfriend or husband everything? Please share with me in the comments.
