Being a Taurean, I’ve been financially always very conscious. I started budgeting from age 18 and knew exactly how much money I was putting into everything. I managed to save around $10,000 every year! And mind you, my salaries were not very impressive!
I want to share some of those tips with you.

Focus on the Long-term
When you’re in your 20s, it’s about having fun and having different experiences. I get it, but your 20s soon become your 30s real fast. It’s important you have a pool of savings you can use for yourself.
You never know what could happen in the future. Also, if you decide to start a restaurant or business, this money could come in handy.
Easier to Learn Habits When You’re Younger
It is said that you can learn many languages quicker as a child. I believe that is true for saving money. The earlier you learn, the better it will be for your long-term security.
I make spreadsheets on Excel, listing how much of my money goes to food, utilities, rent, leisure, etc. Then, I calculate how much is left each month. I set a target for myself to save every month. By doing this, I have managed to save over $10,000 every year.
Don’t get Sidetracked by the Short-Term
It’s beautiful and exciting to live in the present. Obviously, what can happen in the future is not in your hands, but you can be prepared if only to an extent. You’ll thank yourself later.
