“Most times, your blessings are also your curses. And for me, I have this ability to express myself so clearly with pen and paper, but when it comes to expressing myself verbally, I put up a big wall.” – Alicia Keys
Exhausting to Live in Fear
I resonated with this quote. I too feel divine and whole when I’m writing scenes and developing characters for my novels. I find myself connected to my heart energy. But in my personal life ironically, I have many emotional walls, some as large as the Great Wall of China.
I live in a constant mode of fear and it is very tiring to live this way. I feel like I have to look over my shoulder. I don’t let people into my inner world easily.
Turns You Into a Control Freak
Having large emotional walls creates this desire to try to control everything. Every action you take is driven by fear and the desire to be in charge. Also, you never face what’s pushing your emotional buttons. You keep skirting the same issue or matter over and over. It clearly serves no purpose and does not allow you to move forward.
Live Life to the Fullest!
Dropping your walls and exposing your vulnerabilities allows you to make a real connection to yourself as well as others. You clear the pathways for positivity and beauty to flow effortlessly. You allow yourself the opportunity to be happy and live more honestly.
