It’s a question that every one thinks about. You wonder about your higher purpose in life. Is there a reason you came to this world? The answer to that question drives most of your actions and it’s also where you derive tremendous joy and happiness from.
If you’re not sure, it can also be the source of much anxiety and fear. It can be confusing if you do not know your higher purpose in life. This is why it is important to determine your purpose.
Determine Your Higher Calling
Take the time to invest time and patience into figuring out what your higher calling is. What makes you feel alive? What makes you jump up with joy? What makes you forget how much time has passed?
The answers are important because it is a huge signal to what is your higher calling. For me, it is being a creative person. I love to write and love films as well. I find I go into a different zone and feel this divine centered feeling.
Makes Life More Fulfilling
Knowing your higher calling makes life so much more exciting and fulfilling. No matter what you’re going through and are at in your life. It makes life one giant adventure.

Hey Priyanka, stepping back for a few minutes/reflection is helpful to figuring out our callings. It’s easy to operate by default or just take the first job that shows up but like you say, knowing our greater purpose, allows us to do more fulfilling and exciting work.

Totally agree, Vishnu! Thank you for your lovely comment! Funny you say that. I just stepped into this new part-time position. I was nervous about doing it and my fears and usual doubts got into my head. Ah, the mind getting in the way. But strangely, every time I thought about this position, it felt right in my heart. The decision felt peaceful.
I had another offer on hand, it offered more money, but was full-time. I wouldn’t have the space and time to focus on my writing and myself. I felt tempted to take this, but I would be filled with nervousness every time I thought about the job. It’s when I realized I had to give myself the space to step away, so I don’t operate by default. So I don’t go back to my old patterns. With space, you have the time to really become deeply attuned to how you are feeling and listen to your heart’s intuitive whisper. I must say, I feel much happier and fulfilled in this new position and perfect for the transition I am in.
Your observation is spot on, Vishnu! Reflection and stepping away allows us to do more fulfilling and exciting work 🙂

I relate to this post Priyanka. I am doing the same thing right now, stepping back from what is expected of me to focus on what I feel called to do. Listening and honoring to what you feel called to do, is more than just a personal calling but a part of the whole. Thank you for the reminder! xx
