In your head, there is a story playing. It’s kind of like the soundtrack playing in the background of a movie. It creates a powerful, emotional experience in your head.
Be Conscious of the Story You’re Rehashing
The stories you tell yourself dictate what’s happening to you. It says a lot about how you respond to events. The story becomes so seeped in your subconscious that most of the time you’re not even aware it’s playing. It’s running on auto pilot.
Have you driven to work day after day and suddenly you’re barely aware of the turns you’re taking? You’ve taken the same route so many times that you automatically make the right turns.
Your mind works in a similar way.
Is Your Story Supportive of You?
This leads me to the next point. What is your story? Is it supportive of you? Does it uplift you? Are you telling yourself constantly you’re not good enough? Are you telling yourself that you have to struggle and work hard for everything in your life? Or you can’t fall in love because he or she always ends up leaving you?
Depending on the story, it can be limiting your potential. It carries over in every area of your life. Why not change the story you tell yourself, so you can transform your life. This is your choice. You can make any story yours, why not select a positive one?
