Woo hoo! The weekend is here! It’s a lovely Saturday morning. The air is crisp and the sun is shining brightly outside.
I just came from a refreshing jog outside and am eating yogurt. Who doesn’t love weekends? Too many times though, when the weekend arrived, instead of relaxing, I used the weekend to run around and complete errands.
Instead, I was Frustrated towards the End of the Weekend
I felt overwhelmed and just as fast as the weekend arrived, I was waiting for it to be over. I had a couple of these kind of weekends recently. Granted, I didn’t have time over the weekdays to complete several errands, so I had to do it over the weekend. But I could have spaced out them better.
I also realized I can’t be still and relax, so I use the errands as an excuse to keep busy.
Slow Down during Weekends
Your weekend may be filled with social events or errands, but set aside large blocks of time for you to chill out. This is your personal time and you can do whatever you wish to do that brings you happiness.
This weekend, I am using it to listen to music, drink hot chocolate, and read a book on my couch. In the evening, I decided to not go out to any party, but simply watch a long-awaited Indian film with my parents. That’s it!
Work Hard and Play Hard
Most of the time, you end up working hard, but not playing hard. Be gentle to yourself and use your weekends to recharge your batteries so you can be focused during the week. After all, what’s the point of working hard if you can’t enjoy life?
How do you use your weekends? Please share with me in the comments.
