It’s completely normal to make mistakes. But often, you may end up being hard on yourself unnecessarily and drive yourself exhausted with your high expectations.
From personal experience, I have very high expectations from myself, so high that I let myself be weighed down by them. I’m only human and my decisions have turned out to be great and other times, not so great.
Your Mistakes Are a Part of Your Journey
Every decision, whether it turned out great or not, is a part of your journey. It’s a part of your growth and evolution as a human being.
Have you ever thought you could have made a better decision, but in some time, something else beautiful happened that you realized you would never have gotten to that point if it weren’t for that earlier decision? And then the synchronicity of the events made perfect sense to you!
Embrace that You’re Not Perfect
You are not perfect. Perfection can be so boring! Mistakes are what cause us to fall in love or have babies or have an incredible experience. It’s called living life.
Realize You Made the Best Possible Choice at the Time
This is really important to realize. No one makes a wrong decision deliberately. You made the best possible decision at the time with the resources and information you had at hand. If you had known, you wouldn’t have made that decision. Understand that and be kind to yourself.
Learn and Move Forward!
It is perfectly alright and even encouraged to make mistakes! Especially in your twenties! Just make sure you learn from your past decisions, take the lesson, apply it, and move forward.
