According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services…
A report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds. More than 90 % of juvenile sexual abuse victims know their perpetrator in some way. And more shocking and saddening is that approximately 70 % of children that die from this abuse are under the age of 4.
This is Intense, Alarming Stuff
It’s surrounds us everywhere and can take place anywhere and the abusers do not fill any one prototype. Which is why the need to educate our children is incredibly important. I came across this video called “Komal” that educates children on child abuse communication and how to deal with such a situation.
It was created by Childline which is a Mumbai-based organization that supports Indian street children in distress. The video was released in English and many other languages across India.
Perfect Way to Bring Up a Sensitive Subject
The video is simple and engaging for a young child to watch. And for any parents or adults who may want to inform little children or their nephews or nieces, but feel uncomfortable bringing up the topic, this is the perfect way to bring up the subject. I would highly recommend every parent to show this video to their child. The video on the link below is in English and would be perfect to show for American children, or for that matter, children in any part of the world.
